This is such a gorgeous camera, but more than that it's a serious piece of kit.

As well as being a fantastic SLR camera for shooting stills, its HD Movie recording capabilities are out of this world.

Complete TV series' like 24 and House have been filmed on Canon 5DMk2 and 7D cameras, they're used for music videos, all sorts. It's a fantastic all-rounder that is absolutely invaluable to multimedia specialists, photographers and videographers.

Memory will fill up pretty quick - I can only imagine how many CompactFlash and SDHC cards they filled up shooting the last season of 24 - so you need to invest in a fast, high capacity card for filming. And though there's a microphone in the camera, you'll want an external mic for high-quality sound too.

It's certainly the way forward in film, if you're a photographer you don't need to tell me how much a piece of kit like this could affect your work!
